Echo never had a fair start in life.

She was born a “double merle”, the tragic result of careless breeding for coat color—where appearance is prioritized over health. Dogs like Echo are often born with severe congenital disabilities. In her case, it meant she was born completely deaf and almost entirely blind.

But as if that wasn’t enough, Echo was found recently wandering the streets alone, without a collar, tags, or a microchip.

No one knows how long she had been alone, but what’s certain is that she had no one looking for her. She was taken to a shelter where days passed, and no one came.

That’s when one of the shelter volunteers saw her—and couldn’t walk away.

She was brought into a foster home after two weeks with no signs of an owner. Her new human expected the adjustment to be difficult—after all, Echo couldn’t see or hear, and the world must have felt overwhelming.

From the moment she stepped into her foster home, she amazed everyone. She quickly mapped out her new environment, learning where the walls, furniture, and people were. She found comfort in gentle touches and settled easily into routines, showing her intelligence and adaptability.

Echo is sweet, affectionate, and full of love despite everything she’s been through. She doesn’t let her disabilities define her. Instead, she approaches life with gentle courage, eager to connect with the world around her—even if she must do it differently.
